Theme 1 encompasses primary care, community care and ambulatory care as well as including accident and emergency (A&E) departments as the interface between primary and secondary care.
Focusing on co-developing and evaluating HealthTech to innovate urgent and emergency care in these care settings from the first point of contact through to evaluation in A&E.
The aims of Theme 1:
To improve outcomes for acutely unwell patients, by improving early diagnosis.
Streamline management of emergency care pathways, and ensure patients receive the optimal care at the right time.
Promote community-based care and reduce pressure on the emergency and acute care system.
Focusing on care settings which are early in the treatment pathway will allow us to develop technologies that can empower healthcare professionals to make more informed and accurate decisions, leading to earlier recognition of acute illness and improved patient outcomes.
